A Cultural & Commercial Art Destination in the Heart of Historic Worpswede
Village Gallery is in active transition developed within Hotel Village Worpswede, located in the heart of one of Europe’s most historically significant artistic communities.
Launching in Summer 2026, Village Gallery is being built as a permanent commercial fine art gallery, exhibition space, collector destination, and cultural platform focused on preserving and celebrating the artistic legacy of the historic Worpswede Artists’ Colony.
At the core of this project is a commitment to connecting heritage, collecting, scholarship, and international cultural engagement through a carefully curated gallery programme designed to operate as both an active art business and an important cultural initiative.
Alongside active art sales, acquisitions, and exhibitions, Village Gallery will launch its flagship long-term programme:

The Showroom 'Gallery A'
Gallery A serves as the principal showroom, offering visitors a diverse introduction to the world of Worpswede art. The space combines historical and heritage-inspired works with contemporary art, including sketches, oil paintings on canvas and photography. By presenting a carefully balanced selection of artistic styles and periods, Gallery A acts as a gateway to the wider collections and exhibitions housed throughout the gallery.
Gallery B is an Open-Plan, Versatile, Multi-Purpose Premium Space.
WORPSWEDE ART HOMECOMING™ EXHIBITION
A multi-year initiative dedicated to locating and reconnecting historically important artworks created in Worpswede with the landscape and artistic community where their story first began.
We are currently inviting a select number of corporate partners to join us as founding supporters during this early development phase.
Delivering accessible learning and confidential meetings surrounded by art and culture
Art Tutorials in our Theatre
A dedicated viewing space within the gallery where visitors can enjoy art tutorials, artist demonstrations and educational films on a pull-down projection screen. The Theatre extends the exhibition experience, offering a deeper understanding of artistic practice and the enduring legacy of Worpswede.
Gallery B, the upper level, presents rotational exhibitions of new and established artists exploring diverse techniques
Landscape and Portrait Exhibition
Presented every two months, our Landscape & Portrait Exhibition features a rotating selection of works exploring the beauty of landscapes and the human form. Each exhibition brings together paintings, drawings and contemporary interpretations, offering visitors fresh perspectives and new artistic discoveries throughout the year. By regularly renewing the selection, the gallery maintains a dynamic programme that encourages repeat visits and supports both established and emerging artists connected to the Worpswede tradition.
Visitors and guests from Lower Saxony, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and international markets are attracted by the area's culture, heritage, and hospitality
Private Sales for Family Offices
This versatile private room serves multiple functions, including confidential private sales, family office consultations, executive board meetings, and curated art screenings. Designed with flexibility and discretion in mind, it provides a calm, focused environment separate from the main gallery spaces, allowing for both formal discussion and cultural presentation in a refined setting. The glass walls can be electronically frosted at the touch of a button, offering complete privacy when required while maintaining an open, light-filled atmosphere when not in use.
